When our founders wishing to insure that God-given rights would stand forever as the bedrock of our nation, they undoubtedly never imagined that presidents, governors, and legislators would abandon the truth that they were accountable to God and to the people.
We elect representatives with the assumption that they will recognize that their is a higher power other than themselves and that they will ultimately have to answer to It for their actions – that “their creator” has established codes of life which they may not tamper with. We have seen more and more representatives act as if they are the highest power in the land and answer to no God or even the voters who elected them.
These men and women take an oath of office to act for the people who have entrusted them with their lives and fortunes but unfortunately power and party and money have trumped the people and God for way too many of those whom we sadly elected have gone over ot the dark side. They find God and His eternal law and His laws of nature as troublesome and inconvenient for their seats in office and they say that the people cannot be expected to vote for the most important issues. They cover their ignorance of the people by claiming that their ideas – even ideas which deny eternal law and nature itself – are under their power alone to decide. “We must decide this issue” they tell us – you cannot be trusted.
So, our legislature tells God that they can re-define nature itself – His creation of the uniting of man and woman in marriage into something “different” – something God has warned us is unnatural and abominable. The male and female are the only pair equipped to unite as one and participate in the act of creation. The unbelievable arrogance of these 120 men and women is beyond belief.
Our legislature casually allowed some citizens and non-citizens the chance to speak for 3 minutes in which they may affirm or oppose their actions – 3 minutes to appeal against changing 3 million years of creation history. They give 3 minutes to change speed laws or tax rules but no more than 3 minutes are available to listen to the people who will suffer the consequences. But, the legislature had already made up their mind [none of them even took notes] and all these few minutes mean were window dressing – they had already decided in the back rooms before the public hearing even started.
So the legislature seems assured that they will suffer no loss – the people will have to deal with it as will their children. The people will suffer the results of the legislature answering to a tiny group of gay activists who keep screaming “civil rights” in their ears – with no justification at all to include marriage under that term. God gave us human rights and human values and human responsibility and down the road another legislature will try and straighten out the mess that this one would foist upon us all. So there is no accountability in Trenton to any power higher than our elected officials. May God have mercy upon us all!
